I loved the book Try, what inspired the story?
Thanks! I’d wanted to write an M/M book for a little while and was waiting for the right character. When Logan showed up in Edible, he fit the bill.
I really loved the idea of exploring a relationship close up with this series, and watching how it would play out every step of the way. But I was also drawn to the idea of—what if you fell for the last person you ever expected to?
Take, is book two of the series. Did Tate and Logan go where you intended them to when you sat down to write the novel, or did they take you on a different journey?
Actually in this case, they went exactly where I wanted them too. I’ve had books totally change on me, Veiled Innocence for one, but Tate and Logan behaved. Hard to believe I know.
I had a very specific idea when I started, and that was to show the evolution of a relationship up close. I wanted the reader to feel like they were friends with these guys and that they were telling you about their new relationship.
It is the first m/m book I have ever read. I was hooked from the beginning. Being a female author, what was the hardest part about writing a book that came completely from a male POV?
Oh good! Thank you for trying it! The hardest part was not getting confused with who was saying and doing what. I have complete respect for the authors in this genre. It is not easy to keep everything clear and the steamy scenes original!
Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
The main message I would like to get across is one of acceptance. That no matter who you are or who you love, you deserve to be happy and no one has the right to make you feel otherwise.
Tell us your latest news?
I can’t…it’s a secret!!
Which actor would you like to see playing the lead characters from your most recent book?
I never have an answer for this! The characters are so specific in my head I can’t imagine someone playing them. I guess the only way I’d know is if it came into play and I saw them reading the lines!
If you could have been the original author of any book, what would it have been and why?
This is an interesting question, and one I can’t answer. I would never have wanted to be the author of another book, merely because then the book wouldn’t be what it is that made me love it. So I would have to say, none.
What motivates you to write?
The characters and ideas in my head are what motivate me the most. I love to write and share stories. I’ve been writing romance stories since I was sixteen, and to do it now for a living is a dream come true.
On a personal note, how do you relax?
I love to read and Netflix, and by Netflix, I mean that I am one of those people who go on a binge and will watch marathons of shows!
